New Year

I'm feeling much better now! Still feel a bit crappy but I'm definitely getting better..just in time for college..yay :/ I was so glad I didn't go out on NYE wasn't looking forward to being in a crowded club and a hangover as well as a cold was never going to be a good mix! I thought I'd write a kind of personal post about my "resolutions". I'm not going to do the "get fit" or "be healthy" ones just some simple things that I have been doing recently and just want to continue in 2012. I hope this won't be too long!

1. Take better care of my skin
I'm a bit lazy when it comes to my skin. I try to have a "proper skin care routine" but sometimes I just get too busy especially with college. My skin has been so terrible at the moment that I realise I need to start taking proper care of it. I recently bought a Clarisonic Mia. I cannot wait to start using it. Can anyone suggest a good cleanser to use with it? For the moment I'm using some Clarins Cleanser and toner and Oilatum moisturiser. I need to start drinking some more water etc etc and I will ;)

2. Be better at blogging
I started this blog in August I had been reading blogs like llymlrsgemfatale and ellamasters for over a year at that point and I wanted to have a go at it myself. In May I had set up a facebook page Dolly Mixture Nail Art so I knew that I wanted to set up a nail blog but add in my other interests like makeup. I keep the two pages separate but on my facebook page I have nearly 950 like which I'm actually really proud of. I always thought I'd only get around 100! I want to continue blogging in 2012 and make this blog bigger and better. I'd love to start doing Youtube videos but I don't think I'd have the confidence and I think everyone would laugh at my accent! haha.

3. Be more organised
I am terribly unorganised with everything in my life. I always leave things until the last minute then panic. About a month or so ago I bought a small notebook that I write all my to-do lists in. It sounds stupid but once I write something down I don't usually forget it. Its a bit depressing looking at all the work I have to do for college before I go back on the 9th and I don't get back to Dublin till the 5th!!

4. Practice makeup more
Even though I'm in college from 10 till 5 most days (expect Thursday and Friday) doing makeup related stuff I feel like I'm not practicing enough or getting any better. I have tons of makeup books to read as well. I might post a look once a week and if I don't everyone can give out to me!

5. Get some confidence!
Most importantly this year I am going to work on my confidence. I'm really bad at doubting myself and being generally negative about things which doesn't help anything. So I am going to stop and try to be more positive!  I always hold myself back from doing stuff that might benefit in the long run and I don't want to be left behind because of it :)

I never write anything personal on here so I found this REALLY hard and a bit cringey!  But I hope you liked it and it made sense haha. If you did a post about your resolutions leave a link below I like reading them! I thought I'd leave you with a few photos from this year. I hope my friend Hunty (who recently started following  me HI!!) won't mind :) Happy New Year guys! x x

  1. Good luck with your resolutions! I guess confidence is a big thing for a lot of people, and such little things can seem to knock it, but you just have to be your own biggest fan and show the world what you're made of :)

  4. I'd love to see YouTube videos from you! Irish accents are my favourite. I don't know if you can use this with the Clarisonic but I've been using Liz Earle stuff and it's AWESOMEEEEEe.

    :)

PS - thank you for saying I look like a badass, hahaha.

  5. Yes it is! It is honestly the only thing that has ever worked for my skin. I use the moisturiser for dry skin as well. Sooo good!
